word 2007 freezes for 1 minute, when trying to show graohics

When displaying graphics in outlook 2007 a markers apear, with a blue
triangle with blue i in top left corner, the macjhine then freezes for up to
1 minute. If I set the task manager up before this it shows 100% CPU usage
in OUTLOOK.EXE
I have same result if I stop my AVG virus & Zone alarm firewall
I have win XP with 1Gb of memory and an AMD athlon 2300 cpu
It didn't happen with win 2003!!!
