Word 2007 freezing

Everytime I open up word 2007 to look at documents or even to type new
documents it freezes then goes unresponsive. I read an old post from 2007
but I don't believe it is a printer issues or compatibility issue because
this problem just started for me and I have had Office 2007 for a year. So,
I was wondering if one of the recent updates to Windows Vista might be a
cause. Does anyone have any ideas?
