Word 2007 hangs on exit

I posted this somewhere else, but I think this is the right forum (I'm new
here).

Since I've installed Office 2007 Student and Home Edition, Word has never
functioned properly. It takes too long to start and it has NEVER exited
normally, no matter how I try to close it (either by clicking on the top
right cross, or by clicking on the Office button and then on Exit Word).

I have searched all over the net and cannot find anyone with this problem.

Can someone help?

The other programs work fine and don't have this behaviour.

Thanks,
Cristina

Much depends on whether this was a clean install or if you were upgrading or
installing over a previous version. However, follow this FAQ to see if it
finds the problem for you. The most likely scenarios is that you need to
update your printer driver, rename your old normal.dot or you have legacy
add-ins that are incompatible with Word 2007.

I belive it may be some add-in problem. I'll have to check it out. But
although I think Word 2007 takes some time to load, my main concern is in the
closing. I can open, edit, create new files and save them with no problem. I
can close them too. When I want to exit Word, it just hangs and doesn't exit.

By the way, yesterday after sending my post, Word exited for the first time.
I had it minimized, I right clicked on the taskbar and selected close. It
took some time, but it did exit without the classic "not responding" message.
