Word 2007 has 2-second delay when switching docs, et. al.

Hello...

My Word 2007 seems to delay a couple of seconds (with the hourglass
active) whenever I switch from one document window to another.

I don't recall this happening when I first installed it several weeks
ago.

This does not happen with Excel or any of the other Office 2007 apps.

I did mess about with a lot of the settings. Any idea about which one
might have triggered this behavior?

TIA

Check your memory usage and the available memory. What's your OS version?
This _might_ also be an anti-virus thing.

It's on a new (two-weeks old) Dell Vostro Duel Quad with XP sp3 and
4Gb - memory should not be a problem.

My problem is I can't be certain when it happened, but it's probably
about the time I tried to install the fax program and the scanner
software from my old machine.

I think it might be one of these issues:

(a) My McAfee seems to try to block any exe file running from temp
folders. This is a McAfee installation from the Univeristy where I
teach (perpetual license) that is usally installed on the network --
but it's on my home machine.

(b) I recently installed IE 7 -- that definitely conflicted with my
scanner apps. How difficult is it to uninstall that back to IE 6?

(c) Is it possible either my scanner apps or fax app overwrote one of
the Windows XP SP3 files? If so, is there a way to repair all the
files in the Windows directory without doing a complete re-install?

(d) I tried rolling back to an earlier restore point -- I suppose I
could go back even further.

Thanks.
