Word 2007: How to Apply a Template to an Existing Document

The sad thing is that I'm a certified Office Expert--in Office 2003 and
earlier. This ribbon thing is killing me.

I've looked in Word's help for three days. Someone please help me. I knew
how to do this in previous versions.

We created a template, and now we need to know how to apply it to existing
documents. Please, please help.

Hi Jodi,

When you say 'apply it to existing documents' there are some features of a template that can be applied by attaching it to a
document and some that cannot. If you're looking for the prior version dialog the keyboard shortcut from prior versions of Alt, T,
I still works in Word 2007

Click the Office Button, click Word Options (near the bottom), and in the
Popular section make sure "Show Developer tab in Ribbon" is selected. Then
on the Developer tab you'll find the Document Template button which will
open the Document Template dialog box that you can use to attach an existing
document to another template.

Beth,

I am also trying to apply a template to an existing document. As you
advised, I was able to get the Developer tab to display, but there is no
"Document Template" button there. What am I missing?
