Word 2007: In a NEW document I can't type, edit header, or adjust

Upon opening a new document in Word 2007 (on Windows Vista) I cannot make my
cursor appear, type (although when i type, the word counter sayd words are
present), edit headers and footers (also the header the footer are condensed
to one line near the top of the page), adjust the margins or page size (also,
sometimes the page is square), or perform several other routine operations.

The only time I can get a properly functioning document is when I open an
already existing file or when when I go to Office program files and open a
Word template in 1033 called "Office word 2003 Look."

I've already tried backing up and deleting registry for word (as suggested
my Windos troubleshooting guides), reinstalling the entire Office Suite, and
clicking the repair option on the Office installation dialogue box. None of
those work.

Also, occasionally, especially when copying and pasting text, Word will stop
respond and lose documents.

This sounds like you have the Hide White Space option active. Move the
cursor carefully to the gap at the top of the page (or between pages) and
the cursor arrow should change to two opposed arrows: double-click to turn
off Hide White Space. (Conversely, if you move to the gap and the two arrows
point to each other, double-click will Hide the White Space).

Well, I checked, and the HIde White Space option was not on. I played arounc
with it a little and it appeared to have no affect in the new document, All
the old problems wer still present. Thanks.

It is on your computer - it MUST be. If you are using Windows Explorer to
Search, you must have hidden files and system files enabled or it will be
ignored. It should be in your profile:
users>username>AppData>Roaming>Microsoft>Templates.

Okay, great! Thanks so much. I found it and renamedit and everything is
normal again. Awesome. Thanks again, I appreciate it.
