Word 2007 List of Figures and Tables

I am working with Word 2007. Out of 14 figures in my document, only 8 appear
in the inserted list of figures. Figures 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12, and 14.
Figure 1 does not appear in my list of figures when inserting a cross
reference. And I can't figure out how to insert a list of tables.

Can anyone help.
