Word 2007 Macros Disabled

I created a number of macros in a word macro enabled template as well as auto
footers. Without seemingly doing anything, my macros no longer work even
though I went into the Trust Center and anutomatically enabled all macros.
The macros, when run, insert the appropriate merge or insert codes, but not
the actual footers or bookmarks. There doesn't seem to be anyway around this
that I have discovered so far. Before I reload Office Suite 2003, does
anyone know of anything else that might work to run the macros? Always
appreciate the awesome feedback of these discussion groups.

Here's a quote from another message thread dealing with Adobe problems.

"Is Adobe Acrobat 7.0 installed on the computer? If yes, then the
Acrobat 7.0 Create Adobe PDF toolbar add-in for Word prevents Word from
automatically saving changes to the normal.dot template (which is where
macros and toolbar customizations are stored). See

Updating to Adobe Professional 7.9 didn't see to help. I am continuing to
have difficulty with Word documents in Office Suite 2007. For example, code
to automatically insert a table of contents in a Word Document displays as
{TOC \t "Detail - Title, 1"} and efforts to update fail. The same with
Macros designed to insert bookmarks from another document. I can't figure it
out.
