Word 2007 Malfunction after Auto-Update

I have used Word 2007 on Windows Vista for 2 months without problems.

After an automatic update on 18th May - the only event since I last used
Word without problems - Word acted very strangely:
1) Will not open documents, when started with double-click - only from
within the program
2) All buttons seem working, but I cannot access the document text or scroll
up/down
3) In Word settings only the defauls sheet "Popular" is accessible.
4) etc. - it does not work.!
I have uninstalled and reinstalled it - no go.

An strangely enough, if I try to recreate the system to the "before 18.05"
version, that or any other saved configuration fails to load..

Anyone seen the same problem??

These symptoms are all saying that you either have a trial version that has
expired, a beta version that has expired or you haven't activated the
product as it is locked out. If you have a genuine version and it has been
activated, then call Microsoft and report the problem. All Windows and
Office problems caused by Microsoft updates are free of charge.

Thank you, Terry.
However, my Office Pro 2007 is fully registered and activated - and has been
for a long time.
This problem (World only..) came right out of the blue - and has been
reported to Microsoft, but
they do not help anyone over the weekend, so work came to grinding holt..
Hence the cry for help. Guess I have to wait patiently...!
