Word 2007 - mouse clicks ignored in document body

Hello,

I'm having a problem where my mouse clicks (left and right) are ignored in
the document section while using Word 2007. By the document section, I mean
anywhere below the ribbon. I can't change the focus to Word by clicking in
that area, nor can I select text, change the position of the cursor, or use
the scroll bars.

I did try repairing my installation and that did not help. I'm thinking I
need to re-register a DLL. I'm running XP SP2 and I do have Word 2003 and
Word 2007 installed side by side.
