Word 2007 Student - "Not Responding". Sadly, I'm used to that from MS,
however, I expected Auto-Recovery to present multiple versions when I
reopened as it is on, set to save every 10 mins to the default folder
"...../Roaming/Word" (something like that) - but it didn't. I had manually
saved earlier and that's all I got, my edits for the previous 30 mins were
lost. (I know to save frequently, but if I have to do it every 10 mins
manually - what good is AR?) I looked all over for a .asd or .tmp version
but found none. Event Viewer only showed a warning (EventID 7002):
ID: 0, Application Name: Microsoft Office Word, Application Version:
12.0.6504.5000, Microsoft Office Version: 12.0.6425.1000. This session
lasted 7759 seconds with 7260 seconds of active time. This session ended
with a hang.
Anybody know what's up with the Not Responding, or the Auto-Recovery (I've
read the KB article with the 6 different ways to find AR files but haven't
found any on my box . . . . . )? I use Auto Update and regularly ensure all
updates are current. Is there a fix, do I need to redo something with AR
(I've changed it to another folder that I can get to more easily in the
future - if it's working at all), am I missing a registry key or something?
THANKS !!!
