Word 2007 Not Responding - HELP

M

mmcsinc

When I open Word, whether the app or direct from a doc it will open and let
me type, but no corrections, changes, or highlighting, and once I go to tool
bar to save, insert, review or use any command I get a message that Word is
not responding.
I have cleaned up all registries, run a Vista system file checker,
uninstalled Office and reinstalled. I am fried. Anybody have any ideas?

Assuming that this has nothing to do with Word being an expired trial
version and that the program has been activated, it is probably attributable
to a minor corruption in the Word data key in the registry - see
http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm then
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProblemsStartingWord.htm.

The data key in question is
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data
Delete or rename (OldData) this key and Word will build a new one
