Word 2007 object snap

I used to work with this in 2003 but the new version is killing me… I’m
working inside a drawing canvas. I have two objects drawn: a circle and a JPG
image. Now I’m trying to insert an arrow from the circle to point a detail in
the image but Word always snaps to the image’s contours middle points.
Selecting the arrow and checking “Formatting†and “Align†options (translated
from Portuguese) the arrow always has the “Align to page†option ON and it
seems there’s no way to deactivate it. I need to move my arrow freely.

Thx in advance.

In Word 2007, just like in Word 2003, you can temporarily turn
off snap to grid by holding down the Alt key while you drag the
object with the mouse.

Not sure about 2007, but in 2003 you have the option check box to turn off
the two Snap options in the Drawing Grid dialog box, found under the Draw
menu.
Hope this indicates where in 2007 you find these.
All the best
