Word 2007 on Vista Ultimate Crashing and can't start. I have attempted or
verified the following:
I deleted the registry data, and restored it because the fix did nothing.
I have the 2007 Office Service Pack.
I have a printer connected.
First, my word document that merged with access data became difficult to
save, then to establish a new data connection. Then, I could not save at all
after attempting the regedit fix listed on this site. Once I restored the
register, the data file returned to the register, but I could no longer open
any Word document. I attempted the regedit a second time to no avail. The
error message is "Microsoft Word has stopped working."

I will work on it, but does it apply now that it appears that this problem is
associated with all of Office 2007, not just word? I can get into Office
documents (Word, Excel, Access) that are on my recently used lists and I can
save them with their existing name. I rarely can navigate to an existing
Office document (Word, Excel, Access) that is not on the recently used list.
During that navigation the application crashes. I also learned that I can
save a new document but I cannot determine where it will be saved.

Check in Windows Explorer that you don't have an invalid mapped drive.

How do I check for an invalid mapped drive in Windows Explorer? Thanks for
all the information. I'm feeling hopeful.

Open Windows Explorer and check under Tools, Disconnect Mapped Drives. That
will list any mapped drives: delete any that no longer exist.
