Word 2007: Prevents pasting text into table-- glitch.

ebook project--copy and pasted 10 chapters into Vista OS MS WORD 2007--then
sudden popup says "cannot paste this file/folder into table." Have a
bordered table on page I paste chapter into. Original text composed on WORD
2003 xp OS desktop-- and sharing same files with the Vista computer.
Unchecking Paste option on Edit tab under tools,options did not cure problem.


? Vista WORD 2007 won't accept WORD 2003 files?

How to cure the pasting issue? Find the cause and cure that?

Being new at this--appreciate any help or solutions or ideas. Thank you.

I'm not completely clear on exactly what you're doing. I'm able to paste a
Word 2003 file into a Word 2007 table just fine, so there must be something
you're doing that's different from what I'm trying.

Can you post the exact steps so I can try to replicate what you're doing?
How are you copying the file? What sorts of things does the file contain?
Can you otherwise paste into Word 2007, but it's giving the error only when
pasting into a table?
