Word 2007 refresh update and EndNote 6

I use EndNote 6 to manage my references for the scientific papers I write.
The Word addin of EndNote 6 appeared and worked perfectly in the beta II. I
installed the refresh update and it is nowhere to be seen. Tried reinstalling
it to no avail. What has changed? I like Office 2007 but if it no longer
workes with EndNote I would consider that a serious defect.

EndNote 6 is rather an old product (the current release is EndNote 10).
So there could be some issue with it. However, the EndNote support
website says that it should work and gives steps for making it work:

Btw, I am using EndNote 7 here without a problem with Word 2007.
