Word 2007 Save As keeps coming up

Hi -

I have been using MS Word 2007 all day. Now when I open a new or existing
document...the Save As box launches I hit save as..it immediately pops back
up. The only way to get rid of it is to quickly close down Word after I close
the save as box. Or I have to hold down my power button. I am unable to use
word because I can not type in the document because Save As keeps popping up.

I already changed the save settings do not save every 10 minutes, not save
automatically. I did a full virus scan and my pc is clean. MS Office 2007
came pre-installed when I purchased the laptop from Dell in 2007.

Is it a registry setting that is corrupted? Please help me resolve this
issue.
thank you for your time

Hi Terry,

I had Word opened when I followed your instructions. I close word and
followed what you said. There are no problems with Word 2007 in safemode. I
am having problems following the directions to remove ad-ins. Do you have
documentation on where I can locate them in Word 2007.

thank you very much!

I found the ad-ins in Word 2007 in safemode...Am I supposed to be comparing
them to MS Word 2007 not in safe mode? I went out of safemode and launched
Word 2007...how do I fix the problem? How do I know which one to uninstall?
And how do I do this?

No. You need to disable all the add-ins and then test Word again to see if
disabling the add-ins has resolved the problem.

Then enable the add-ins one at a time testing to see which add-in is causing
the problem. When you find out which add-in (or add-ins) is the culprit, you
need to look for a solution from the support team for that add-in.

If these are the usual template add-ins in the Word Startup folder, then
renaming the template from *.dotm to *.bad will stop Word loading them.
