Word 2007 Save As PDF Error

No matter what document I open and attempt to save as PDF, this same error is
the result: This file is in use by another application or user. This is on
a home LAN - no one other than me has access to the documents. Clean reboot
does not help.

I am running Word 2007 SP2 on Windows 7 RTM.

Any ideas on how to correct this problem?

If I remove Office Ultimate 2007, reinstall it and reapply the add-in - Save
As PDF works fine. Once Service Pack 2 is reapplied, the problem recurs.

Anyone at Microsoft or an MVP have a work-around or fix for this problem?

Have you run all the updates and downloaded the latest PDF add-in. All have
been updated since the SP.

I am not completely certain what you mean by "all the updates" but Windows 7
(RTM) is up to date. Office Ultimate 2007 is at SP2 level. The PDF add-in
was downloaded again yesterday. Its ID according to control panel is
12.0.4518.1018. Still getting the identical error message.

Have you run Windows Update which will find any Office updates that are
outstanding. If you have, then test again with Word running in Safe Mode.
From Start | run (winkey+r), type in

winword /a

and press enter. Are you able to SaveAs a docs in PDF now?

I'll add that I am running Win7 RTM and both W2007 and W2010 will create
PDFs without problem, so it has to be something third party causing your
problem.

Thanks for your assistance, Terry. The report that you were running
successfully was helpful also.

windword /a

still produced the same results.

The problem is (apparently) caused by Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0. I will
report the problem to them.
