word 2007 shutdown message

Every single time I finish working in a word (2007) document and I normally
close the application, a message appears that says Word has encountered a
problem and needs to shutdown. This is really weird, because I'm able to work
normally, until I close the aplication, when I do this, the message
appears... every time. I tried the "Repair" option on my installation CD, but
it didn't work; the message is still popping up.
Have you seen this happening before?

Any help appreciated!

When that happens, it generally means that one of the following is true:

1. Normal.dotm is corrupted, and Word is encountering the problem when it
tries to save it. Try renaming or deleting Normal.dotm and see if the
problem goes away.

2. There is registry corrution, and Word crashes when it tries to save
settings to the corrupted registry entry. This often can be fixed by
deleting the Data key in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word

3. An add-in is interfering with how Word closes. The solution here would be
to remove add-ins one-by-one until the problem goes away.

I'm having the same problem when I close Word 2007. I've tried each of your
recommendations, but with no luck. I started having the problem around the
beginning of April. I'm running Vista Ultimate SP1 on a Lenovo X60. Any
thoughts about what the problem is and how I could fix it?

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I think you can try a utility called Advanced Word Repair to repair
your Word document. It works rather well for my corrupt Word
documents. Its web address is http://www.datanumen.com/awr/
