My specs: Windows XP Pro, Core 2 Duo 1.66 ghz, 1 GB RAM, Office 2007
When I'm saving documents in Word 2007, it seems to take an abnormally long
time. In Word 2003, I know that sometimes the saves would be a little slow
(as shown in the blue dot progress bar down at the bottom, but these saves
seem to take even longer. In addition, Word kind of freezes up until the
save is done, so I can't go into another document and work until the first
save is done. It's taking about 30 to 45 seconds. I'm saving in .doc (Word
97 to 2003) format.
We're saving it to an in-house server, but I don't seem to have these
problems in any other program. The documents are slightly large (say, the 5
to 10 MB range), but again, I don't seem to have this problem elsewhere and
it didn't seem to be quite so severe with comparable document sizes in Word
2003. Has anyone else noticed this?
