Word 2007 Spell Check Issue

I'm looking for a suggestion on what may be going wrong with my spell check
in Word? I have checked the help files and followed their instructions but
the Auto Correct in Word doesn't seem to be working. I have run the
diagnostic in help. Basically, I've done all I know to do. If I blatantly
misspell a word to see if it's working... it doesn't do a thing. If catches
some grammar mistakes but almost NO spelling mistakes.
