Word 2007 Spellcheck

For some reason, spellcheck isn't working on my word documents. When I click
the spellcheck icon it says: the spelling and grammar is complete. text
marked with 'do not check spelling and grammar' was skipped. I am confused
because I didn't mark anything. In fact, I haven't even used spellcheck yet.
I have no problem with spellcheck in other things-like when I'm typing this
right now, it is underlining them.

Someone please help! I know it's really new but I'm hoping someone has the
knowledge and the time to read this and help me out.

I'm afraid I don't know the correct menu commands to fix this in Word 2007.
