Word 2007 Stops Working Message

This doesn't happen all the time, when I go to open a Word document I get an
error message that states Word is not working properly and a solution is
being searched for and then shuts down. I'll go an open up Excel and then
minimize it and try Word again and sometimes ti will open properly and
sometimes it won't. Like I said, this doesn't happen all the time and for
someone who is by no means a computer guru, it can be very frustrating.
Anyone have any ideas?
