Word 2007 takes several minutes to load a file

When I am trying to open a word document in Office 07 Ultimate, word hangs
for several minutes before I am able to view the document. This happens to
several of my co-workers (all different Office packages). It seems to only be
related to Word and not other MS Office applications.

There are several possible reasons, but as it is happening to several
different users it suggests that Word cannot find the owner templates from
which the documents were created. Have you recently renewed your server or
moved/removed templates? Is that your scenario? Another reason is a bad
network printer that is causing problems: try using a different Windows
default printer, preferably a locally connected printer, to see if that
resolves the problem.
