Word 2007 Text Controls stop working after a check box control

I am creating a form in word using both test box controls (tried both rich
text and plain text) and Legancy check boxes. I protect the form template as
a word document. When I send out the form, users can fill in the text boxes
UNTIL the check one of the check boxes. Once a check box is filled in, all
fo the text boxes become disabled. Is there a way to fix this?

It isn't recommended to use both content controls and legacy form fields in
the same document. Choose one type.

As an aid in making the form based only on content controls (so that
form protection is unnecessary), use Greg Maxey's add-in at
http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Custom_CC_Checkboxes.htm.

If you need to protect the text outside the content controls from
being edited, select the entire document (or at least the part that
should not be editable) and click Group > Group on the Developer
ribbon.
