Word 2007 Title Bar

My "Exit", "Maximize" and "Minimize" buttons are not working on my title bar
and cause Word 2007 to lock up. Any ideas?

Sounds like a bad third party add-in. Test by running in Safe Mode. From
Start, Run (Winkey+R), type in

winword /a

and press enter. Open a document and for closing now. If it is OK now, then
you have installed something that has placed an incompatible add-in in
Word/Office.

Then it may be the mouse driver or a graphics driver incompatibility. I
presume that you can close Word or a document using either the keyboard
shortcuts (Ctrl+F4 / Alt+F4) or the menus with the mouse?

I can close a Word document and exit Word from the Office button. Excel and
all other Office programs seem to work fine.

It still points to a third party add-in. Are you sure that Word definitely
started in Safe Mode and that the buttons still didn't work in Safe Mode?

If the method you gave me previously works, then yes, it started in safe mode.

I have the same problem and deleted all add-ins - to no avail
