Tonight, for the first time I tried to send an email direct from the Word
2007 menu (although it's something I do all the time at work from Word 2003).
I get a 'Word couldn't send mail because of MAPI failure' error message.
I have the Office 2007 suite installed with Outlook as my default email
program; I'm running Vista Home Premium. I have seen a large number of posts
on the net about this problem, but no definitive solution. I am able to open
a new email and then add the document as an attachment, but not the converse.
I'm already pretty distressed about Outlook 2007 (remaining in memory after
closing the program), but I'm not sure that that has anything to do with the
MAPI fault.
One post mentioned a registry amendment - however it wasn't specific to
Vista or to Office 2007 and I don't want to screw things up. I would dearly
love to hear from anyone who has a solution to this vexing problem. I'm
getting to the stage where I'm thinking about using Open Office..
Many thanks in advance
