Two days ago, after an automatic update, Word 2007 began to misfunction.
* I can open Word.
* When I try to open a new file, Word flickers and then returns the message
(not responding) on the top bar. Waiting does not resolve.
*I can access any file on the list of most recently opened files.
*I can open "Word options" but cannot select or arrow down to any of the
options.
I followed the following recommendations which I received off other's
questions.
*I attempted to use a restore point, but AS USUAL all my restore points
magically disappear the moment I need them and so that option was not
available.
*I used the repair feature under control panel>programs>Microsoft Office.
*I used the repair feature off the original installation disc.
*I uninstalled and then resinstalled Word.
*I deleted all building blocks files.
None of these steps have resolved the problem.
In preparation for my next step, i.e., restoring off an (older) Acronis
backup, I have backed up essential files. This is my "last resort" option
which I'd rather not excercise.
Thanking you in advance for your assistance,
Mark A. Ellis
