Word 2007 Won't Save and Shuts Down

I'm in a real mess. When I try to save a document, Word shuts down. I have
uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Office Home and Student2007, but it did
not help at all. It seemed to have started after an update. I can't
uninstall the service pack Suggestions please!
