word 2007 word wrap problem

While typing in a document, when I get to the end of a line, instead of
wrapping to the next line, the text in view jumps up to an earlier part of
the document while the cursor goes down to the next line. I can no longer see
what I'm typing. If I hit enter, the view jumps back down to one line below
where I am typing. Then I have to hit backspace several times to get back to
where I was typing. Verrrry irritating. Can you help?

I have the same problem -- in Word and when typing Outlook messages. It's
very irritating, and I've yet to see a solution--or even anyone else talking
about the problem. I've googled about the problem, but I'm guessing that if
anyone else is having the problem, they're choosing to characterize it in a
way other than I am, since I always come up empty. It doesn't always
happen -- just when I get near the bottom of the window while typing, and
not all the time even then. I find that it happens more often in Outlook
2007 than in Word 2007. But, it happens in both places.

When it happens here, it's not immediate. As I continue typing, the line
correctly wraps and things seem fine... but the moment I press the spacebar,
the view then shifts up to earlier in the document while the insertion point
remains properly where it's supposed to be. Pressing Shift+F5 (GoBack)
usually take the view to the proper location. You might try that and see if
it's less cumbersome than Enter+backspace.

My guess--since the incidence doesn't seem to be very large--is that it's a
video driver issue. Three questions:

1. Are you using Vista? (I am)

2. What video card do you have? (I'm using the nVidia GeForce 7300 GT)

3. If you're using Vista, are you using the Aero display? (I do... but not
always because some programs I use--such as SPSS version 12--cause Vista to
switch to Vista Basic , but I can't be sure whether the problem occurs when
I'm not in Aero mode.)

Herb,
Thanks. It's good to know I'm not the only one... And thanks for the "go
back" shortcut. I am using Vista, but can't answer the second and third
questions. I'll let you know if I get any other responses. Thanks again.
