Word 2007

Recently I opened a file that changed the hyperlinks to the code how do I
change it back to just seeing the URL.... I have tried everything I know how
to do.

Press Alt+F9, which is a shortcut for going to Office Button > Word
Options > Advanced, in the "Show document content" section, and
unchecking the box for "Show field codes instead of their values".
