Word 2007

Hi,
In previous versions of Word, I have been able to automatically insert the
file path & extension of any document either as a header or footer without
having to physically type it in. With Word 2007 I cannot find where to do
this. Many thanks any advice.

You happen to be in a Macintosh forum. However, you can insert the file name
and path using Quick Parts- Field from the Hearer or footer tools.

Many thanks Bob, I was aware it's a Mac group, none of the PC groups on my
isp's server were available, and I assumed given the nature of my query the
answer would be the same, apologies, I can only plead desperation as a
mitigating factor. I looked up your instruction and there is only file name
not file name & path availbale in 07, the version I've got at least. In
Word 03 there was file name & path.

Look again closely. There is a check box to show file path.

Hi Bob, yes, I did look again & found the file path check-box, why I didn't
notice it originally and why m/soft has winkled it away from the previous
name/path option position is mystifying, but I guess they had their reasons.
I've had another look at the ng's available on my isp's server & this time
there were a couple of Word groups for PC, so I won't be bothering you
Macsters again, and I do appreciate that you still helped me even tho' I was
parked in the wrong spot, so to speak. Adding to my nightly prayers....'now
I lay me down to sleep, please Lord don't let Microsoft make any more Word
updates---'
