Word 2008 for MAC, italian version

When I try to write any alfabetical letter, with my keyboard, in a document of Word, in which some fields are protected (not the one I'm writing, naturally!!!), I receive this message: «selezione non valida". So, I may not write anything, if I don't select the whole field I want to use. But, the field I was using already had something writed (I only needed to complete that field): the same file worked (and still works) correctly under version 2004 of Word for Mac, and under 2000 and 2003 versions of Word for Windows. How may I correct this problem? A need absolutly to use, for my work, that kind of files.
Thanhs.

Hi Vittorio:

That's a bug.

The document has protected sections in it. Word 2008 has a bug in its
handling of partly-protected documents.

The only work-around is to obtain an un-protected copy of the document, or
to use Word 2004.

Hope this helps
