Word 2008 Formatting Palette does not show font preview and jumps towrong font

Hi,

Word 2008 (updated to 12.1.7) Formatting Pallette does not show
previews of fonts.
Another bigger problem: If I select a font, and start typing it will
jump to a random other font.
I have deleted the cache according to this post :

but without results. Just 3 warnings about a Helvetica font damage and
repair.

Anyone with a solution?

Have you tried validating your fonts via OS X's Font Book?
