How can I define my own header? (or modify an existing one)
I know how to do it in Word 2007 (Windows)
But on a Mac with Word 2008 ..... ?
I have looked everywhere and I am strating to suspect that it is not possible.

Any clues????????

Well, you're right about the built-in Headers in the Elements Gallery - they
can't be [easily] modified, although in any given document you can use one
of them, then make changes to that document's H/F. That file - along with
any other specs in it - can be saved as a template for creating new docs
based on the template.

If that isn't exactly what you want to do, any file's H/F can be created &
edited independently of those in the Elements Gallery. The procedure is
virtually the same as in PC versions of Word except that Word 2008 hasn't
adopted the Ribbon. To create/edit a doc's H/F do either of the following:

1- Go to View> Header & Footer to access the H/F layer of the doc, or

2- Dbl-click the top or bottom margin area of a page.

Once you do either you can also use the H/F feature that appear on the
Formatting Palette of the Toolbox to insert page numbering, dates, etc.
