Word 2008 invisible text

When I use Word 2008 on the Mac, usually when authoring documents, it
is not uncommon for section titles to become invisible. I can make
them appear by dragging/selection the text.

I only see this problem in Word, no other application.

Any help appreciated

I am using 12.1.7
