Word 2008 shows pictures as black boxes in doc from PC

I have moved a template from Office 2003 on pc which shows pictures fine. When I try to open it in 2008 all the formatting is fine but the images are all blacked out. I can't seem to import or drag images into this file either. A new office 2008 document works fine and I can drag the jpeg files in fine.

This is a confirmed bug. There's a fix on the way.

In the meantime, ensure you have applied the latest Apple OS X updates.

Cheers

Hi pyeo,
Would you mind sending me the problematic document? I¹d like to ensure it
doesn¹t contain anything we might have missed. My email is below.

Thanks,

Curt

I have the same problem.

This is kind of a big deal for all of us that work in a mixed environment office. Basically, I am back to using 2004 until this is sorted out.

Any idea when this will fix will be delivered?

No, we never have any idea when fixes are going to be released. I "think"
the fix to this problem is in the next service release to be issued.

That service release is in testing now.

Assuming the fix passes testing, it will be delivered in the coming Service
Release. If it fails testing, they will pull it out and delay it to the
following Service Release.

So it's an absolute lottery: neither we nor Microsoft can say when a
particular fix is coming out. All being well, it will be "weeks" rather
than "months".

Cheers

Any ideas when the picture problem will be fixed or are there any other ways manually to override the problem?

It's not very nice when I'm sending official documents with the company logo showing as a black box!

Have you applied Office Service Release 12.1.0?
