You don't say which OS and processor type you are using.
It may be the performance problem caused by using Word 2008 in OS 10.5.1 on
a PowerPC computer.
There are some severe slow-down issues with that combination, which
Microsoft is working on. We are hoping there will be a patch soon-ish
(maybe three months).
Try getting rid of WYSIWYG Font menus, and Project Gallery on Start-up in
Preferences>General, and turn the Progress Window OFF in Entourage.
See if that helps.
OK, Word 2004 was amazingly fast and responsive. Word 2008, by contrast seems
sluggish. When I'm typing, there is a slight delay between hitting the key and
the onscreen letters responding. Very maddening. Does anyone know what's up
with this?
