Yes, that is the problem. And I have discovered that workaround.
I use numerous continuous sections in my documents (courtroom trial transcripts). This workaround is somewhat satisfactory if I am only dealing with the section at the end of the document, but is problematic if I need to go back to a section in the middle of the document.
Another workaround is to place the cursor at the beginning of the document and use "Go to" "section" and count (sigh!).
What genius decided to remove this feature? Why was it removed? Did someone thing we wouldn't care what section we're in?
How is removing a feature an improvement?
Additionally, if the document begins with other than Page 1 (as I do with multiple volumes), the "assigned" page number is no longer displayed in the status bar, either, like Word 2004. So we have to go to Page Layout View to determine the assigned page number versus the physical page number of the document.
