Word 2008

The "fix" for Word 2008 that was supposed to prevent it from suddenly not responding has not worked. It still does this about once an hour on my iMac and MacBook, requiring me to force quit and restart the program. At this point, it sounds to me like I will need to go back to Word 2004. Any suggestions?

Check that Save and AutoSave are working correctly.

If not, repair disk permissions.
