Word 2010 Changes Font When Saving as html

Bill

I recently encountered an unusual problem. I created a *.doc file
using Times New Roman font style. When I save the file as a "Web
Page", the TNR font changed the file to Century Schoolbook. I have
created quite a number of documents using TNR and have saved them, but
the font remained unchanged. I've tried renaming the file, saving it
again as html, but the font changes to CS. Can anyone explain why this
could be happening?

If you resave the file in Word format, is the font correctly displayed
again? If so, that suggests that the font substitution occurs in your
browser.

Thanks Stefan,

Thanks for your reply!
I did not try to save that particular file back to a *.doc file but I
did save another *.doc file to *.html and the font did NOT change! So
I'm totally confused about what happened in the first case! I don't
recall changing anything in the conversion process!

This suggests that the problem must be in that particular file, then. If you
select all (Ctrl+A) and then reset font formatting (Ctrl+SpaceBar), does
that make a difference? You could also copy the content, minus the final
paragraph mark, into a new file, and see if that fixes the problem. (To see
nonprinting marks, including paragraph marks, ¶, click the ¶ button on the
Home tab.)

Stefan,

This problem has NOT repeated so I must have accidentally hit a key
(or combination of keys), but I sure don't recall doing it! If this
problem arises again, I'll be sure to follow your suggestions. Thanks
again!

Bill,

I'm glad it appears to have been resolved. Thanks for the update. :)
