Regardless of what compatibility options I choose in the Preferences (eg Word 2000-2004 & X), whenever I do a compatibility test with a new document it always reports this issue as a problem - Word 6.0/95 Compatibility Options are set. Apart from simply pressing the "Ignore" button does anyone know a solution to this?

Yes: Don't save as .doc.

That's a badly-worded warning that is meant to tell you that you are saving
the file in the old document format.

If you do, some of the newer features will be down-converted to static
images that can't be edited.

If you save as .docx, the warning will go away.

Cheers
