Word 6 on Windows 98

MKK

I have an intermittent error I have been unable to solve
despite reinstalling Word. On opening Word I can open a
blank page but as soon as I type anything it will return
an "Program Error. Integer Divide by Zero Error". Other
times I can have no applications open and it will tell me
there is not enough memory to run Word. Only Word is
giving me this problem.

I have been succcessfully running Word for about 6 years
now and this problem only developed gradually over the
last 12 months.

Is this a memory problem and if so why is only Word giving
the problem and nothing other applications such as Excel?
Can anyone suggest how I can fix it?

Many thanks
MKK

There are several reasons for receiving errors starting Word. This
article contains the common troubleshooting steps:

Note the reference to Tools/Templates and Add-ins should be
File/Templates in Word 6.
