Word 97 and Text Form Field

I entered a "text form field" within a table and saved as word 97-2000 & 6.0/95 rtf; when I re-opend the document, the text form field expanded into two lines! How can I correct this? Tried just about everything! I had to save it to word 6.0/95 doc and it is fine. Why is that? Thank you in advance

You don't give very exact steps for reproducing the problem, but I just did a quick test:
- Word 2003: created a new document, typed some text, inserted a formfield (text input)
- Saved to Word97/6.0-95 RTF format
- Opened in Word 97

The text form field looked just fine.

Have you tried again with a new document, just in case the problem is with this one document (or even one formfield)?
