Word 97 closes unexpectedly

I am using Word 97 (we are a non-profit and can't afford to constantly
upgrade!). Starting about 2 weeks ago, the application suddenly closes down.
No error messages, no warning...just bang, and it's gone! I haven't done
anything new to my computer, no new programs/applications, etc. It has up to
date antivirus, plus anti-spyware applications. The rest of the Office 97
apps are fine...just Word does this. I have the autosave set for every 1
minute in order to minimize my loses. Any ideas out there?

Dear G-n-O...thanks! Renaming the Normal.dot didn't work, but moving the
files in the Startup folder seems to have done the trick. At least, it
hasn't crashed yet. Thanks loads!
