Word 97: Colours not right on inserted file graphics

When I insert a graphic (photo or picture): Insert | Picture | File, it
inserts correctly into the Word document but there is a blue/pink
overall hue/colour to the picture.
Only if I press Enter near the graphic does it seem to show correctly
but when editing further it resorts back to these "weird" colours.
Anyone know how to correct this situation?

Try using Insert/Object/From File instead.

When you use Insert/Picture/From File the original format of the image
is converted to a Microsoft Word Picture Object and the image could
lose some of the quality.
