Word '97 docs aren't displaying right in Word 2002

From 2001 to present I wrote documents in Word '97 with
Windows '98. I now have Windows XP with Word 2002
upgrade. But the '02 version is not displaying many of
the fonts I used in '97 files. Instead, the new program
substitutes newer fonts for the older ones--which
completely disrupts my page layout and line justification
schemes in the '97 files. The old files now look like a
blind man laid out the pages.
What is the problem? What do I have to do to correct it?

Are the original fonts still available on the machine? Or have you moved to
a new machine? If the latter, you'll need to install the necessary fonts.
