Word 97 does not close individually

Hi

If for example I have 4 word documents opened, and if I wanted to close only
one of them, all the 4 documents close. Why is that ?

Hi S.B.,

If you're clicking on the [X] in the upper right of the Word97
window it closes Word. Depending on how you have the documents
displayed in Word you can use the Window menu in Word to have
separably closable panes.
