Word 97 Error on Exiting

I have started to get the following error message every time I exit
Word 97.



WINWORD caused an invalid page fault in
module WINWORD.EXE at 0177:3007d49e.

If I then try to re-load the same file I get a message telling me that
the file is already in use.

Has anyone any idea as to what the problem is?
