I have a client who is using Office 97 (no SR-1 or SR-2) in Windows 98. When
he launches Word the only fonts that appear in the font menu toolbar is
Times New Roman and Plotter. When he goes into Format, Fonts, only Plotter
is available in the list. I had him type the name of the font he needed in
the font field and click OK, and then he could type with that font just
fine. However, when he accidentally places the mouse in another part of the
document, or opens a new document (or does something else I could not
discern over the phone), Word goes back to Plotter, and Times New Roman is
not even available. He has to retype the desired font name in the Format
Font dialog box.
I found nothing in the Microsoft Knowledge Base, nor in a Google search. Any
ideas?
Thanks,
Gene
